Obituary for Lisa K. Hiatt

Harvard resident Lisa K. Hiatt, 58, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Mary Lanning HealthCare in Hastings, Nebraska.

Memorial services to be held Friday, October 5, at Prairie Loft in Hastings, Nebraska.

Memorials may be directed to her family for a later designation.

Lisa was born on September 14, 1960, in Omaha, Nebraska. She grew up in Nebraska, Virginia, and Missouri; but Virginia was always her “home”. Lisa worked 28 years at South Central Public Power District, Giltner, Nebraska Post Office, American Red Cross, and the Hastings Tribune. She owned and operated the Reclamation Store in downtown Hastings, Nebraska.

Lisa was a Girl Scout Leader and volunteered her time with Peoples Project and High School and College Speech Teams. She was a very charitable person, both with her time and money, always doing things for others. Lisa enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, music, anything to do with the outdoors, and writing. She especially loved her family, her children, and her cats.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Micheal Hiatt of Harvard, NE; daughters, Melanie (James Ellis) Hiatt and Maggie Hiatt all of Harvard, NE; mother, Deanna Wolfe of Damascus, VA; father, Bobby Bryant of St. Paul, VA; and sisters, Carlotta Pittman of St. Paul, VA; Nikki Wolfe of Charlotte, NC, and Misty Bryant of St. Paul, VA.

Lisa loved and was loved so deeply. She will be forever missed.
