Christine D Mcknight

York resident Christine D. McKnight, 48, passes away on Monday, July 27, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.

Memorial service will be 11:00am Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1725 Crane Ave, Hastings, NE. In honoring her wishes to be cremated there will be no viewing or visitation. DeWitt Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to her family for a later designation.

Christine D. McKnight was born February 13, 1967 in Grand Island, Nebraska, the daughter of Carl and Shirley (Neemann) Sallinger. She graduated from Grand Island Senior High School with the class of 1985. Christine graduated from Concordia University in 2004 and became a Registered Nurse. She worked in the Emergency Room at Memorial Hospital in Seward, Nebraska. In 2015 Christine received the Bryan Trauma Champion Award for saving a life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and riding motorcycles.

Christine is survived by her husband, Ronnie McKnight of York, NE; children, Christopher McKnight and his wife Cheali, Chanda McDonald and her fiance Chris, Joshua McKnight and his wife Shantell, Chase Spencer and his girlfriend Paige, Ryan Spencer and Janie McKnight; nine grandchildren; mother, Shirley Salinger; father and step-mother, Carl and Bonnie Salinger; brothers, Mike Salinger, Jeff Salinger, and Pat Salinger; mother-in-law, Sharron McKnight; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
