Joan Timms

Joanne Marie (DeLarme) Timms, age 89, passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on March 27, 2026.
She was born January 6, 1936, in the Sandhills of Ericson, Nebraska, to Howard and Amelia DeLarme. Later in life, Joanne returned to school and earned her LPN license. She worked in nursing for several years. Joanne lived much of her life in the Columbus, Nebraska, area and later in Hastings. She found enjoyment in reading, cooking for those she loved, adventures with her sister Kathryn, caring for her trees, and watching birds.
She lived a very simple lifestyle, and in her later years, her simplicity became a quiet gift to those around her.
She will be remembered by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Kathryn DeLarme, Barbara Enzminger, Donald DeLarme, Robert DeLarme, and Michael DeLarme; five of her six sons, Bryan Timms, David Timms, Larry Timms, Mark Timms, and Kevin Timms; her former husband, Joe Timms; and her later companion, Donald Bock.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Timms-Walker (RJ Conti) of Kalispell, Montana, Roger Timms (Irene) of California, Sandy Hickey (Shane) of Comstock, Nebraska, and Lisa Hall (Mark) of Doniphan, Nebraska. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
In honoring her wishes and her appreciation for a simple life, no formal service will be held. Her immediate family will gather at a later time to return her to the Sandhills she loved.
