Verla Rothfuss

Verla Rothfuss, 89, passed away on April 10, 2026, at Mary Lanning HeathCare.
Verla was born October 10, 1936, in Spring Ranch, NE to Pearl and Gertie (Bohlen) Fry. They moved to Pauline, NE then she graduated from Blue Hill High School in 1953 and moved to Hastings, Nebraska in the same year. She married Glen Rothfuss on August 15, 1954. She worked at Gibson’s until 1975 then went to Pauley Lumber until she retired in 1997. They were blessed with 3 children, 21 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Pearl & Gertie Fry; brother and sister-in-law, Ervin & Marion Fry; Sisters and brothers-in-laws, Blanche & Geroge Hesman, Esther & Carl Carpenter, Opal & Alvin Hinrichs and Doris & George Christensen.
She is Survived by her husband, Glen Rothfuss; children & spouses, Glenda & Don McMurray, Raenae & Robin Rollins & Kent & Julie Rothfuss; grandchildren & spouses, Jason & Justine McMurray, Heather & Jerry Boutin, Chad Rothfuss & Amanda Wathen, Mandy Rollins, Amy Urban, Michael & Diya Rothfuss, Mark & Becky Rothfuss, Justin Gydesen, Amanda & Ray Dimmitt, Kyle & Joyce Gydesen, Austin & Kelsey Gydesen, and Bethany & Dalton Swetey; great Grandchildren, Keaton McMurray & Morgen Weitzel, Felicity Conway & Jakob McEwan, Hunter Conway, Cassidy McMurray, Eric Heldenbrand, Ryan Rothfuss, Carson Wathen, Kree Ann Rollins, Wyatt Dent, Baylynn Rollins, Jaimy Urban, Rhyker, Maddox, Zoey Rothfuss, Oakley & Skylynn Gydesen, Avery & Jameson Dimmitt, Leighton & Madisyn Gydesen, Samuel & Emma Gydesen, Peyton, Cashton & Kannon Sweley; and great-great grandchild, Amora May McEwan. Along with the best friends, a girl could have Shirley Kerns, Janet Kile, Jeniene Filbin, Barb Hansen, Darlene Ackerman, Shirley Tharp and Lela Mulder.
Memorials may be given to the family to fulfill Verla’s final request.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
