Alan, I will always remember you were one of my sixth grade students at Lincoln School where I taught Social Studies.  One of the things I remember so well about you is the time you gave me a special invitation to come to your home where I had the pleasure of listening to you play the piano.  You and your mother had prepared special treats for us.  I am sending my condolences to your family.

Allen was so fun to be around, he made me laugh, even as he pranked me. The best one; was the "transvestites day", we dressed up as the oposite sex, I dressed up as a cheerleader, I had on Connie P.'s Cherleading outfit skirt, he was walking beside me in the hallway between classes, talking with me, I didn't notice he had my skirt up as we walked until the laughter behind us was so loud I turned to see why.. he ran yelling, "it's Dress up day" I couldn't catch him of course.. we laughed about it, I still grin thinking of him.

Well I met Alan when I was heavily involved in my Dads (Jim Alders) racing career! We would watch the dirt track races at the local fair grounds! And we also went to Knoxville IA to the open wheel nationals together! What a good time!
Also we attended some really good concerts together one in particular was at Rosenblatt stadium wow what a good time we had there! We got a little tipsy on the way there so we just rolled our keg down to the bottom of the hill where the concert was! I don’t know how but we made a lot of friends that day sporting our own keg! And sooo many fishing trips and the crazy awful jobs we had together like the Rabbit farm we worked at at the Navy Depot in Hastings man what a crappy job but we did it!!! RIP my friend I will miss the occasional phone call from you!!
