Alan L. Smith

Alan L. Smith, 60, of  Hastings, NE,  left his earthly home February 11, 2021 after a long battle with COPD and Emphysema.

Alan was born October 20, 1960 to Lowell and Barbara (Thompson) Smith in Hastings, Nebraska. Alan graduated from Hastings High School in 1979.

Alan was a very talented musician and played the keyboard in a few local bands and played for many weddings.  Alan followed in his family’s footsteps and drove a truck for many years until his health declined.  He  loved the outdoors, fishing, camping,  gardening and grilling up some tasty food were some of his favorite hobbies.  Alan was an avid dog lover and always had a companion by his side.

He loved his children and grandchildren and always enjoyed rock hunting with them and showing them a new trick in bowling.

Alan is survived by his brother, Steve (Cathy); three daughters; Shanda, Melissa (Robert), Andrea (Brent); Grandchildren; Lola, Dominic, Elsa, Eloise, Beckett, Claire and Jace; His fur baby, Cocoa. Nieces; Sara and Anna, nephew; Patrick and his aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lowell and Barbara Smith

Memorials are suggested to the family.

Funeral arrangements will be held at a later date.
