Carol Kruse

Carol Kruse, age 74, of Hastings, NE, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022. She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Michael) Biere; son, Michael (Tham) Jennings; grandchildren, William and Winnie Jennings; brother, Dale (Brenda) Kruse; dear friend, Kathy James; nephews and nieces. Preceding her in death was her father, Conrad Kruse; mother, Lillian Kruse; two brothers, Eugene and Lyle Kruse.

Carol was born on November 15, 1947, and grew up in Lincoln, NE, where she graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor's in home economics education. Being a single parent was her most rewarding, as well as most challenging, profession. In fact, she chose to never color her hair declaring she had, "earned every single one of these gray hairs." She went back to school and became a Registered Nurse at Bryan School of Nursing. The majority of her working career was spent nursing in long-term care facilities. During her retirement years, Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, sewing, quilting, and embroidery.  She also enjoyed making homemade Runzas, putting up sweet corn, and making homemade tomato juice and spaghetti sauce. 

She loved her family fiercely and profoundly. At Carol's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. She would be honored if families spend quality time together. Her family requests memorials be given in the care of the family for future memorializing.
