Edwin 'Ed' J. Hoffman

Ayr resident, Edwin J. Hoffman, 81, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at Azria Health in Blue Hill, Nebraska.

Edwin J. Hoffman, known affectionately as Ed, was born on January 28, 1942, in Hastings, Nebraska, to Edward and Philomena Hoffman. Ed married Judy Osborne on September 29, 1964, in Deweese, Nebraska. He worked on mobile homes. Ed lived an adventurous, creative, and generous life, always putting his family first. A talented artist, Ed expressed his creativity through the making of ankle bracelets, canes, and wine, bringing joy and delight to those who received his handmade gifts.

Ed is survived by his wife, Judy Hoffman of Ayr, NE; Children, Brian Hoffman (significant other, Lori Bolson) of East Peoria, IL and Dana Tallent of Hastings, NE; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Bernard (Loma) Hoffman; sister, Phyllis Wheatley; along with many nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara Halte.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Saint Cecilia's Catholic Church, 301 West 7th Street, Hastings, with Fr. Craig Clinch officiating.
