Joyce Timmerman Obituary

Clay Center resident Joyce Timmerman, 68, died Friday, November 4, 2011 at Mary Lanning Memorial Healthcare.

Joyce was born September 12, 1943 in Indianola, Okla., the daughter of John "Wesley" and Pearl (Swift) Hall. She grew up and attended school in Indianola. Joyce married Ronald Hance on April 17 1961; to this union two children were born, Carolyn and Terry, they later separated.

On December 10, 1971 she married Marvin Cochrane in Bryan, Texas; to this union one child was born, Mary. Together they spent many years raising their three daughters. They later separated though remained friends through the years. On June 13, 1988 she married Delbert Timmerman bringing into our family his daughter Jennifer. Joyce was a member of the YWCA and headed the Career Closet program. She enjoyed puzzles, embroidery and crocheting. Her pride and joy came from her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was known as Mom or Grandma by many. Mom was an amazing woman, she loved everyone she would give what she had to a person in need, literally give away her last dollar to help someone else. She touched so many lives, if you saw her, you would get a hug.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Delbert "Dale"; four daughters, Cari Hankins and husband Jake of Clay Center, Terry Cochrane of Hastings, Mary Meyer and husband Erik of Clay Center, Jennifer Timmerman of Lincoln; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; parents, John "Wesley" and Pearl Hall of McAlester, Okla.; three sisters, Sharon Fine and husband John, Joan Cotton and husband John, Sherry Cathey and husband Bill; two brothers, John Hall, Kenneth Hall and wife Carol; special aunt Dorothy Foote and husband Bill; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
