Hastings resident Phyllis Lee (Kavan) Haberman, 83, died Wednesday, May 18th, 2011, at her home.
Phyllis was born October 23rd, 1927, in Omaha, NE, to the late Charles and Mabel (Leer) Kavan. In 1948, she graduated from Immanuel School of Nursing and married (former state Senator) Rex S. Haberman, who passed away in 1999. She was a school nurse in Imperial for 19 years, and enjoyed spending time with her family, working on the computer, and quilting.
She is survived by her four children, Mary Lou Haberman, George Haberman, Rex Haberman II, M.D. (Jennifer) and Phillip Haberman, M.D. (Kris); 12 grandchildren, Ben (Holly), Ellen (Paul), Stephen (Amy), Sam (Erica), Annie, Ashley, Maggie, Jack, Holly, Lauren, Mary SoiƩ, and Rex III. She is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Janet Haberman, and her friend, Joan Nienaber.
Visitation Schedule
Visitation will be Monday from 9:00am to 11:00am at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Hastings.
Service
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at St. Mark's Episcopal Pro-cathedral Church in Hastings.
