Ron Calhoun

Hastings resident Ronald ‘Ron’ Calhoun, 80, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Mary Lanning HealthCare.

Memorial service is at 10:30am, Saturday, March 16, 2024, at DeWitt Funeral Home, 604 S. Burlington, with Pastor Chad Power officiating.  Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings, NE.

Memorials may be directed to his her family for a later designation.

Ron was born November 16, 1943, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of Archie and Mildred (Weber) Calhoun. Ron married Joni K. Uhrmacher on January 15, 1986, in Hastings, Nebraska. He worked at T&L Irrigation, LCL Truck Equipment and Jacobi Carpet One. Ron never met a stranger, and could always make you smile or laugh with his humor, quick wit and ornery spirit.

Ron is survived by his children, Ashley Wharton of Lincoln, NE and Zach (Liz) Calhoun of Hastings, NE; two grandchildren, Aubrey and James; siblings, Catherine Kenny, Linda Guest, and Charles Calhoun, along numerous nieces, nephews, and life-long friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joni, his parents, and brothers Tim Calhoun, Richard Calhoun, Gerald Calhoun and Darrell Calhoun.
