Stuart Schlatz, age 65, passed into the arms of Jesus on March 24, 2024, at home in Trumbull, Nebraska shortly after being diagnosed with cancer.
Stuart was from Republican City, Nebraska where he attended Republican City Elementary School then transferred to Alma High School where he graduated with the class of 1976.
While attending Kearney State College, Stu was a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity. He graduated in December of 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Agri-Business. Upon graduation, Stu managed the Wheelers store in Alliance, Nebraska.
On June 4, 1983, Stuart married Joni (Reiss). In 1988, they moved to Doniphan, Nebraska where he owned and operated the DoMar Mobile Home Park, and later worked for Aurora Cooperative until his retirement in 2023. During his time living in Doniphan, Stuart supported his daughters' various activities. He also participated as a volunteer with the Doniphan Fire Department and Quick Response Team.
Stuart was an avid sportsman and enjoyed farming in Republican City for a great portion of his life. Until the end, Stu was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Stu’s faith was also an important part of his life. He trusted Jesus as his Savior and worshiped regularly at his church.
Stu is survived by his immediate family; wife Joni, daughters Amy Schlatz of Doniphan, Renee (Greg) Vinton of Omaha, and Jena Schlatz of Lincoln; granddaughter Katherine Vinton, another Vinton granddaughter due in June, and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Patricia Schlatz.
Celebration of Life Service will be on April 5, 2024, at 10:00 am at Grace Life Church, 1220 W 18th St, Hastings, NE 68901. Visitation at the Doniphan Event Center, 103 W Pine Street, Doniphan, NE immediately following the service.
