William D Bjugstad

Hastings resident William D. Bjugstad, 91, passed away Monday, February 12, 2024, at Good Samaritan Society Perkins Pavilion.

Private family services with burial at Parkview Cemetery will be held at a later date. DeWitt Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting his family with arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to his family for a later designation.

William was born March 6, 1932, in Finley, North Dakota, the son of Oliver and Marie (Vasfaret) Bjugstad. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korea Conflict. William married Adelle Delimont on February 22, 1952, in Hastings, Nebraska. He worked at Good Samaritan Village for 20 plus years and owned many businesses including BJ’s Wash House.

William is survived by his wife of nearly 72 years, Adelle Bjugstad; children, Vicki (James) Perrie, Kelley Bjugstad, and Betty Lundquist; grandchildren, Michael Perrie, Eric Perrie, Christopher Lundquist, Justin Griffiths, Jessica Manka, and Elaine Reiners; along with numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Marie Bjugstad; son, Kenneth Bjugstad; son-in-law, Richard Lundquist; and siblings, Harland Bjugstad, Twylla Colleran, and LeRoy Bjugstad.
